All orders for semen are subject to our terms and conditions at the bottom of this site or here, and the following process:

You are required to complete the online order form below, which supplies us with your mare’s information and shipping details for the required semen. Upon completion of the online order form, an invoice will be generated within 24 hours.

Payment can be made via BACS or Card, please confirm the preferred method on the order form.

Please note card payments are subject to a 2.5% surcharge.

All orders for semen must be received by the relevant deadline the day before the semen is to be delivered.

Chilled and Fresh Semen

Chilled and fresh semen must be ordered before 11:00 the day before the semen is due to be delivered.

Chilled semen will be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery for 10:00 delivery the following working day. On the days Royal Mail does not offer a next day delivery service (Sunday and Monday), we will not accept an order for next day delivery. Orders can however be collected in person from us or you can make alternative arrangements to have it collected by speaking to us directly.

Frozen Semen

Frozen semen will be stored at Oakham Veterinary Hospital and shipped via TNT. Orders for frozen semen must be received by 09:00 the day before for next day delivery. Shipping and handling fees for frozen semen are payable directly by you to Oakham Veterinary Hospital and must be paid in full before any semen will be shipped.

Same day delivery

Caunton Manor Stud can at your request arrange for Reproduction Connect to provide same day collection and shipping, you will be responsible for Reproduction Connect’s fees and must pay them directly.

Please note:

1. You agree to pay a stud fee for each pregnancy to Caunton Manor Stud if semen is used as part of an embryo transfer procedure or ICSI;

2. Chilled semen may be unavailable at times without notice due to competition schedule, illness or extreme circumstances. Caunton Manor Stud will in these circumstances use reasonable endeavours to provide frozen semen if appropriate or provide a semen from suitable alternative stallion;

3. If your mare is not in foal by the 1st October in the current breeding season and you have written veterinary confirmation of this (including evidence of EVA and CEM tests which are negative), the following breeding year, you can receive an additional dose of semen; 

4. Liability and risk for the semen and any container it is transported in is the responsibility of Caunton Manor Stud prior to transport. Once collected by the transporter, courier or shipping company, the semen becomes your responsibility;

5. Caunton Manor Stud offers a discount on the stud fee as follows:

From 2 to 4 doses of semen, 10% discount.

From 5 to 9 doses of semen, 15% discount.

From 10 to 19 doses of semen, 20 % discount.

From 20 to 30 doses of semen, 30 % discount.
